observe!

The first art exhibition in the historic Meistersaal at Potsdamer Platz presents works that engage, each in their own way, with perception, observation, and the stories behind people, relationships, architecture, and social spaces.
OBSERVE! is an invitation to look, to perceive, and to discover. Four artists, four perspectives, four pairs of eyes turned toward the world around us. Observing itself becomes the subject. It is no coincidence that two of the works on show are titled “The Observers” and “Beobachter” (“Observer”). The exhibition invites visitors to look more closely and to focus on the artworks, the people around us, and their own perception.
The listed heritage building Meistersaal is one of Berlin’s legendary cultural sites. It gained international recognition through Hansa Studios, where musicians such as David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Depeche Mode, and U2 recorded their albums. With OBSERVE!, the Meistersaal becomes the setting for an art exhibition for the first time. The venue also lends the title OBSERVE! an additional layer of meaning: the Meistersaal stands close to the former path of the Berlin Wall, in a place where observing and being observed were part of everyday life for decades.
The exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, and experimental visual languages. Together, the four artists open up a dialogue about seeing, remembering, and interpreting.
